Nina Osoria Ahmadi (@niblorf) is a 21-year-old artist, student, and aspiring educator from Miami, Florida. Ahmadi’s work employs a range of mediums including drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. Ahmadi’s current work uses self-portraiture to explore the “in-betweens” or gray areas of identity, referring to the mixed cultural identity, racial identity, matrilineal family lines, gender, and sexual identity through various media including photography, printmaking, and performance. Having been exposed to the arts throughout her early life, Ahmadi aspires to facilitate access to art and creative expression for other young communities of color. They believe strongly in the power of the arts in the lives of youth and in public policy. In 2021 they were awarded NYU’s City Government Internship Grant and worked for NYC’s Commission on Human Rights assisting their communications department and artist residency program. Ahmadi currently works for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as a graphic designer. They will soon graduate from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a major in Arts, Education, and Social Justice and minors in Education and Studio Art.
