“What’s up! I’m Tori. I'm an artist-organizer, and I let them blend together. I feel like organizing is part of my art. So I'm an artist in so many forms. I draw. I acted in my short film. I'm a videographer, photographer, dancer, whatever the f*ck I feel like doing, I'll probably just f*cking do. And music. The way that manifests into organizing is that I just like bringing other creative people to help inspire me. I like running concerts, shows, potlucks. So I'm like, 'Everyone, bring an instrument" and I'll bring pastels and paper. I just want your mind to help influence my mind as an artist. And then I just know that I have the skill of facilitating, I know how to bring people together. But once we're together I'm like, ‘You teach me sh*t. Because I don't know everything.’ So yeah, running shows, events, bringing together organizers.”
Tori on what art can do to mobilize movements no other medium can:
“It's a universal language. It's a meeting point for a lot of people. I think art creates the logic of unlimited possibility and how our futures are absolutely molded by us. So I think it also changed the logic of the group being like, ‘Wait, we can do whatever the f*ck we want, which makes revolution so much more tangible.’”
